Challenge

Final year-end financial statements
Producing annual financial statements from underlying records that are UK SORP, FRS 102 and Companies Act compliant to satisfy both Companies House and the Charity Commission
Independent examination vs Audit
To independently examine or audit the statements and underlying records as per the requirements of the law.
Policies – To help review and setup appropriate policies for the organisation to make sure assets are safeguarded and the charity is compliant with best practices in the Sector

Solution & Result

We were able to help with producing the new FRS 102 compliant financial statements for the switchover and then chose the independent examination route for scrutiny of the accounts as this is the cheaper alternative for charities with an annual income of less than £1m and assets of £2.6m, helping to save thousands on audit fees.
